Russian Felt Boots – Valenki – UGG Type Footwear

Thursday, September 22nd, 2011

Russian felt boot, also called ‘valenki’ by the Russians, is a kind of ugg-type footwear. Maybe some people dislike ugg because of their horrible look, lack of elegance. But the valenki may change your view about ugg.

They are pretty. And they provide great comfort. But usually the boots do have a drawback – they are made of wool and have no hard soles, so you just walk on that wool fabric. Russian winter is normally very frosty and rather dry with no puddles or mud, so they don’t need the stiff sole to be attached to the boot.

Actually, valenki have been Russian traditional footwear for many centuries. Then in the middle of the 20th century they became unpopular and only now returned. Modern versions of valenki are designed with embroidery, sequins, stones, ribbons and plenty of other type of adornment to every taste. They can come in various colors, too.

Are you attracted by the valenki? Let the balenki to warm you this winter.

UGG Boots Fans’ Cares

Wednesday, June 29th, 2011

Apologies for leaving such a long time and without writing a new blog, I will keep refreshing the blogs for the old friends and new comers.
On the basis of mass visitors’ message, a new blog about fans’ cares of ugg boots will be published. The fame of UGG boots are getting stronger and stronger whereas the possibility of getting into the trap of fake ugg boots is becoming easier and easier. What’s the UGG brand boots fans care most? Particularly, it draws my attention, for some people from some countries where UGG boots are sold rarely. First and foremost, 53% of the total ugg boots fans care about the quality of the boots. They’d like to pay much more dollars, pounds, or euros to buy a genuine durable ugg boots rather than a pair of inferior ugg boots. They check every piece of the sheepskin, insole and outsole; they put on their feet, feeling the comfort and put them off quickly to check whether the shoes are easily put-on and put-off; they examine and approve and write a blog on facebook. 29% of the total cares about the price of ugg boots. They spend even a whole day for the cheap ugg boots and discount ugg boots, until they find where they can purchase the ugg boots for sale from some online ugg boots outlet. 10% they will ask the original place of ugg boots, some will ask that may I know that your ugg boots are from Australia. But I will tell you here, 80% of total ugg boots are made in China and transported from China. 7% of the total fans, they want to know more knowledge about how to wash and dry ugg boots; they will require the color of ugg boots and appendix products; and so on.

What to Wear with Your UGGs?

Friday, August 13th, 2010

UGG boots are available in many different colors and styles and it is this enormous selection which makes the boots so versatile and desirable. The styles run the gamut from the casual look of the standard three quarter boot in a natural shade to the flamboyant and funky long haired pink boot. Whatever color you can think of, the sheep skin can be dyed to match.

People are wearing these popular boots to the office, on the dance floor, out to dinner, and while on vacation to the slopes or to the shores. Whatever look you are trying to achieve, you can achieve it with UGG boots. And these boots are not geared towards any one segment of society. Men, women, children and infants can all find a pair of UGG boots to match their size and their style.

Think wearing boots at the beach sounds crazy? Well, this is what surfers did back in the seventies. In fact, even though sheep skin boots had been around for quite some time, it was surfers who started the craze. Australia is a great place to surf, and since UGG boots are made from Australian sheep skin their existence was already well-known in the land down under. After emerging from Australia’s cold ocean waters, surfers needed something which could quickly warm their feet. They found their answer in UGG boots. These boots became as essential a part of a surfer’s gear as a surfboard. As Australian surfers traversed the globe in search of the perfect wave, they took their boots along and in no time at all, the popularity of the sheep skin boot exploded.

Barefoot and pregnant

Friday, July 2nd, 2010

Here I got an ugg news:

UK’s Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists (SCP), a professional organisation of registered podiatrists, made a number of announcements on June 15 concerning the dos and don’ts for healthy feet while pregnant for June’s “Feet for Life” month.

The recommendations of the SCP are based on data from an online survey of 1,000 pregnant or previously (within two years) pregnant women conducted by One Poll in addition to “fieldwork”.

In the survey, women reported feeling pressure to be stylish and opt for fashion over well-being and ladies while pregnant favoured high heels (32%), ballet flats (53%), flip flops (66%) and Ugg boots (30%).

Unsurprisingly 70% suffered “from foot problems like swollen ankles (37%), swollen feet (45%) and arch and heel pain (16%).

Lorraine Jones, podiatrist and member of the SCP, said “Weight gain and hormonal changes in pregnancy have a huge impact on the body. High heels alter your posture, shorten your calf muscles and place increased pressure on your back and knees.”

SCP urges moms-to-be to “wear comfortable, supportive footwear. Choose a heel height of 3cm as this shifts your weight a little forward on your feet which can help alleviate discomfort”.

Select “supportive footwear with extra shock absorption, a supportive arch and firm heel,” and “don’t cross your legs when sitting”.

Another useful tip is to “buy shoes later in the afternoon when your feet are at their largest” and “make sure there is 1cm between the longest toe and the end of the shoe”.

HOW TO TELL FAKE UGG BOOTS

Monday, June 21st, 2010

There are many ways to tell if a UGG is a fake.

1) The bottom of the boot is raised or embossed with the UGG insignia in a Classic tall or short Authentic Ugg. A fake is flat.

2) The seller says they are made in New Zealand or Australia for a Classic Tall or Classic Short. Uggs are Manufactured by Deckers Inc. They have been making them in China for the past 3 years. They used to make them in Australia and New Zealand but have not for 3 years or more. The uggs that are advertised as made in Australia or New Zealand are FAKES. They are not from Deckers Inc. They have copied the label and insignia but they are not from Deckers Inc.

3) They are subject to copywright infringment as only Deckers is allowed to use the word UGG. They have also copied Deckers labels and boxes.

4) The ones that are fake do not have a raised or embossed insignia on the bottom of the soles.

5) You can report to UGG Australia any fake ones you see on ebay at info@uggaustralia.com or at the bottom of an auction of a Fake Ugg click on Report this Item.

6) Ugg Australia has required any Authorized Ugg Dealer to promise and sign an agreement not to sell on ebay. If the price is below retail then it is most likey a fake as only Ebay sellers who buy the boots retail are allowed to sell on Ebay. This is from the Deckers Web site: “eBay Sellers/On-Line Auctions and Trade Boards: UGG® Australia does NOT authorize any of its dealers to sell on eBay, any other on-line auctions or trade boards. UGG® Australia’s agreements with its dealers prohibit sales on auction sites. Accordingly, UGG® Australia does not offer its limited warranty or rebates for products purchased on these sites and will not assist with resolution of any disputes including assistance with Pay Pal refund requests.” So if they are buying them retail with tax and having to pay ebay and pay pal fees and they are not seconds and are grade a boots they will be selling for more than retail. Any boots you see being sold less are usually fakes. The price of the boot is a good indicator for a fake.

This is UGG news from AAP named: “UGG under copyright threat”

Thursday, June 17th, 2010

SUSANNA DUNKERLEY

June 2, 2010

AAP

The commonly used name for Australia’s iconic sheepskin boots, “UGGs“, could be under threat of another copyright claim.

American company Deckers tried to claim the name in 2003, but the national trademark regulator ruled the term was generic and could apply to any kind of sheepskin boot.

Deckers, which owns the name UGG Australia in other countries, has reportedly made a second attempt with IP Australia to prevent local companies from using the name.

(IP Australia is the agency that grants rights in patents, trademarks, and designs.)

It has also threatened action against Australian companies selling UGG boots on internet sites such as eBay.

Labor MP Sharryn Jackson says the government should do what it can to prevent the company from acquiring the copyright in Australia.

“UGG boots are an Aussie icon and it is a generic term used for sheepskin boots,” she told parliament.

“It’s wrong that an organisation like this is able to use its strength and size to try to force an Australian industry out of business.”

“Or for them to have exclusive use of the word UGG in all countries except Australia.”

UGG boots started out as an icon of the Australian surfing culture in the late 1960s and has since developed into an international fashion footwear item.

Now, you might ask, “why?” or “how?” does a boot that defies all fashion logic stay popular? The answer lies in two simple reasons.
